Coincidence Project did not begin with answers. It emerged through a series of earlier investigations into perception, ambiguity and the ways meaning can appear in ordinary reality.
Developed during the Fresh A.I.R. #5 artist residency at URBAN NATION in Berlin, Your Confusion, My Illusion explored dualism, perception and the fragile boundary between reality and illusion.
The project approached ordinary urban situations as unstable visual fields, where what appears familiar could briefly become uncertain.
Developed during the Pier-2 Art Center Artist-in-Residence Program in Kaohsiung, this project extended Coincidence Project into a new urban and cultural context.
Through walking, observation and alignment, the work searched for temporary visual relationships within the everyday structure of the city.
1+1=1 investigated how repetition, rotation and visual pairing can transform a single image into a new perceptual space.
The project opened a more constructed, quasi-surreal direction within the same ongoing interest in how meaning appears between separate elements.
The investigation continues.
